Pimpri Chinchwad University Hosts Faculty Development Program on AI and Generative AI to Strengthen Academic-Industry Synergy

Pune, [13-02-2025]: Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) reaffirmed its commitment to technological excellence and academic innovation by organizing a two -day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "AI & Generative AI" in association with Superpro AI and INNOPLEXUS. The FDP aimed at equipping faculty members with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, aligning academia with the rapidly evolving industry landscape.

In her keynote address, PCU’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Manimala Puri, emphasized the necessity of AI proficiency in academia, stating, "Artificial Intelligence is not just a booming industry; it is the need of the future. At PCU, we firmly believe that our faculty should stay ahead of time, be technologically ready, and ensure that our academic pace matches the industry's rapid advancements." She underscored PCU’s commitment to a future-ready syllabus that empowers faculty members to impart knowledge that is relevant, dynamic, and aligned with industry expectations.

Supporting this vision, PCU’s Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sudeep Thepade, reinforced the university’s dedication to making students industry-ready through its highly application-oriented curriculum. He highlighted AI’s transformative potential and the importance of faculty members being well-versed in these advancements. The event was graced by Mr. Rajesh Patil, Head of Actual User Business, Forbes Marshall, Pune, as the Chief Guest. He lauded PCU for its proactive approach to faculty training, noting that such FDPs are crucial in bridging the gap between academia and industry. He emphasized that AI is rapidly becoming an indispensable part of every sector, making it imperative for educators to stay ahead in this domain.

Adding to this perspective, Mr. Gaurav Tripathi, CTO & Co-Founder of INNOPLEXUS Pvt. Ltd, delivered an insightful talk on the booming AI industry, the significance of industry-academic collaboration, and the need for faculty to be trained for the ever-evolving landscape of AI. He commended PCU’s unwavering dedication to creating an industry-ready curriculum and its forward-thinking approach to faculty development. The program was conducted by Superpro AI and INNOPLEXUS, while Dr. Pallavi Ahire coordinated the event. Through this initiative, 30 faculty members of PCU received advanced training in AI and Generative AI, empowering them with the latest developments in AI and Generative AI. The FDP marked yet another milestone in PCU’s mission to drive technological excellence and reinforce its standing as a hub for future-focused education.
